Through experience we have learnt a few things about cycles and ebikes. We have started to collate a list of things to help our customers
Avoid any liquids contaminating your brake discs and brake pads. If this happens, you are likely going to require a brake disc scrub and replacement brake pads.
Avoid turning any cycle/ ebike with hydraulic brakes up side down as this can cause air bubbles to enter the hydraulic brake system. The brakes will become soft and in some cases stop working. This will require a hydraulic brake bleed.
If you are attempting to bleed your hydraulic brakes yourself, then buy a good brake bleed kit (Clarks, Park etc) and the correct brake fluid (mineral, dot 4 etc), the type is brake type dependant (do not mix the fluids types). Ensure you protect the brake disc and pads as contamination will require brake scrubbing and/or brake pad replacement.
